it's gotten bad

On Pinterest I came across a cleaning calendar
& I made it custom to fit my cleaning preferences.
I really feel like this is an easy way to stay on top of things
& not get overwhelmed by spending an entire day each week... or two... cleaning a ton.

Here is my cleaning calendar.
pretty OCD huh?

Sorry I know it is super blurry :-/

Easy way to get off labels!

Maybe the cat is out of the bag and everyone knows this trick, but I never read it anywhere.
So, I kind of feel like I've got a bit of useful information.
If you are a blogger -- & reading this.. & human.. you probably have a pinterest account.
I do: username is Ketrin Jones
don't steal my identity aight?
I came across these great ideas (see photos)

so ya see.. there are a TON of ideas and neat ways to recycle old bottles & jars
I am going to definitely make the candy corn colored wine & beer bottles for a center piece
I've started saving all of my pasta sauce jars to use for Christmas gifts.
I am going to spray paint the lid a Christmas color and add some cute ribbons.
Then I will fill them with a brownie recipe or something like that.
needless to say-- I've been soaking tons of bottles & jars.. even spice bottles
I think those would be so cute just left clear & filled with little tiny wild flowers.
I'm really good at getting labels off, but that gunk and glue just sticks on.
So what did I do?
SOS PAD!!!

Just rub that on the bottle under a little hot water and it is almost immediately clean.
Oh but I feel like I should tell you the lavender scent does not in any way smell like lavender.

Hope you all had a great weekend!
I'm finishing up a couple of things then headed to Lowe's to get paint for my laundry room..
photos to come :)
When you leave a comment leave your pinterest name and I'll follow you!!

calling all interior designers!!

Okay, I know one of yall out there reading this has to have a better idea
of how to decorate our downstairs living room...
it might not be the best idea, but it's definitely much better than mine.
mainly because I have no idea.

This is what I am working with (the worst wall EVER)

There is one thing that must go.
the tree.. (it's Tiels.. he's attached to it for some reason even though we are taller than it)

What do I do with that wall? look at it? ehhh.
HELLLPPPP!!
& have a great weekend!

My very 1st wreath!!

Ello Loves!
I haven't been blogging much because I have been pinning.
Yes, Pinterest has taken over my life.. again..
I decided I didn't want to wait until the holidays to make a wreath
& since the ones (which are tacky anyway) at Michael's and hobby lobby are so pricey.. I decided I would make one myself.
I just googled summer wreaths and came across a couple.
I basically cut strips of fabric & made them into tiny ropes by hot gluing as I rolled.
I also used jute to make the spirals.
I bought an "R" for Rector in the wooden crafts area for $0.99, then simply painted it a sea foam green color.
All in all this project would have cost roughly $10
$4.99 for the grapevine wreath
$1 for glue sticks used
$0.99 for the "R"
& the rest for fabric and paint.. which if you already have is free.
I had to invest in my first hot glue gun so mine was a tad bit pricier, but still pretty cheap.
Here is the finished photo!

Have a great week everyone!
