Life in India

This post shows a glimpse of my time spent in India.
Things weren't always the cleanest, but I sure had a great time volunteering and teaching those amazing kids.
Read about EVAD (the school I taught at) here.

I packed everything in this.

If I was lucky I got to shower in this kind of shower.
(only happened twice)

If I wasn't lucky.. I had to shower in this shower.
(I invented the stool method)

I slept in this (for 5 weeks).

On this nice tempurpedic bed. I joke.

I usually had a dot on my forehead.

I saw more cows than I could count.

No shoes in the casa.

India sure is good about making their buildings stay cool.
This is great if it's 108 degrees out, but not so great when the high is 50 in the winter.
I slept in multiple layers.

Yoga was something I practiced on a daily basis.

The streets in Old Delhi were crazy busy.

This is what the streets were like where I taugt outside of Delhi.

This is what a really good meal looks like in an orphanage in India.

I'm not sure if I will ever make my way back to India, so I am glad I had the opportunity right after graduating college early. What an amazing experiences. I learned so much about myself throughout my time there.

Thanks for the insight!
I volunteered in a school in the Maldives last year and had a similiar although slightly more "westernised" experience.
:)

I can see why the entire experience would be near and dear to your heart... what a life changing time! I can't say I envy your glamorous accomodations, but I do envy the opportunity you had to go and serve others in such an interesting place!
