So, I got married.

The past 6 months have gone by so fast.
As you can see blogging was on hold while I planned
& then replanned by wedding (blog post to follow eventually).
It was better than I ever could have imagined & we are doing great as newly weds.
Who knows where this blog will head, but for the time I think I will slowly get back into blogging.

Hello Lovies!
Things have been real crazy around here.
& by real crazy I mean.. may or may not be planning the wedding in under 5 months.
I know I know.. not what we had planned for, but it is all turning out amazing and literally in 5 months we will be married and at the Ritz relaxing on our half month honeymoon.
Both of our families have hopped on board and are being so helpful with planning.
(like they wouldn't?? haha)
Who knew working 40+ hours a week and planning a wedding could be so stressful -joking.
I've knocked out a lot with the planning..
bridesmaids dresses-check
... now flowers, invitations, & registering for china!
I am so excited for our special day.
Here I am with some close girlfriends and one of Tiel's sisters after choosing my dress.
I literally went in & within 1.5 hours & 7 dresses.. I had chosen it & paid for it & was outta there.
Kickin ass & takin names!

A Very Merry Christmas. We are ENGAGED!

He asked me.
It hasn’t officially set in yet, but we are engaged!
I think I might still be in shock.
Tiel asked me on Christmas Eve.. I was so surprised and had no idea.
more to come, but for now here are a couple of pictures.
I refuse to be that person putting up a close up of the ring..
not that it is a bad thing if you do..
It’s just not my style.
But let me tell you.. it’s amazing.
The ring of my dreams that we picked out in NY this past summer.
I’m so in love & I’ve never been this happy!

About 20 minutes after he asked me!

At his parents Christmas day!

1 of 3 of my future sister in laws!

New Year Resolutions

It's never too early to start thinking about new year resolutions.
There have been years where I don't make resolutions at all &
there have been years where I make many of them.

I've decided to limit myself to 5-
& these are ones like go to the gym 5x a week (even though I do actually plan on getting back in the swing of things haha)

1. Live in the moment & soak it up.
2. See my family more often.
3. Set a new financial goal & meet it (we are big savers & I hit my financial goal for 2012).
4. Travel Europe with Tiel in the Summer (France & Switzerland).
5. can't post the 5th one JUST yet. (soon).

Life has been crazy lately.
Here are some of our recent photos/events:

I've been blessed to travel the world.
Asia, Middle East, Europe.. you name it. I've come close.
Nothing beats America.
We are all so blessed to live in a country where we have the opportunity
& privilege to vote.
I'm not very public about my opinion on this blog--when it comes to politics.

Oh & I am kind of obsessed with these vintage posters...

Meet Meat

So, we are officially that couple with 2 identical dogs.
We've have been wanting to get a baby boy for about a year.
Unfortunately, to find one that isn't $2,000 & is black & miniature is kind of hard.
We wanted to have the same breeder as Mimz.
I decided since we were going to my ranch in West Texas that I'd give the breeder a call.
She had lost my number & had a baby boy, 7 weeks old, solid black with a little white patch on his neck, ready for us! -- 4 hours later Meat was with us.
That is right.. Meat.
Meat & Mia

We had great time at the ranch. It was nice to relax and get to know the little guy.
Let me tell you, he is they most hyper pup I've ever seen.
He goes non stop...
We tried the whole put the dog in the kennel at night thing.
That last about an hour & then he cries and cries and cries.
He actually does much better in the bed with us at night!!
--we will keep that up until little meat decides to go to the bathroom in it ha!

I'm in love!
But Mia is still my baby girl :)

Halloween Bark

Yesterday I felt like making treats for work.
Monday’s suck & I have a couple of big jobs coming up, so I thought I’d treat everyone to some
Aka the best stuff ever
I got the recipe off of Pinterest, but kind of switched up some stuff
(like I ALWAYS do)

Here is the recipe – did I mention it is no bake? Because it is!

Ingredients (for 8x8 pan)

10 Oreos crushed
12 yogurt covered pretzels crushed up into pieces
12 oz white chocolate chips
½ cup candy corn
Various sprinkles (purple, brown, & orange)

In an 8x8 baking pan lay down the crushed Oreos. Top with the pretzels.
Melt the white chocolate and drizzle evenly over the crushed Oreos & pretzels.
While it is still warm push down candy corn and shake sprinkles over it.
Put in the fridge or freezer to cool for 1-2 hours.
Break up into large pieces & eat all the little ones!!

no post title can describe this really

I can't think of a post title for this post.
How can I describe today.
Last October 14th I posted this.
On October 14th, 2009 my Godmother went to heaven after a long battle with stupid cancer.
Today I got news that my cousin, Cody, is still not coming out of his critical condition.
Last Saturday he was at a rodeo--doing what he absolutely LOVES--and got seriously injured.
I'll let you read the story here..
He has a fractured skull and there is still swelling.
From what I've gathered through the grape vine (aka my family members)..
Cody will be put into a deeper coma where he will not have any outside interactions.
So for example his family members that are there with him cannot talk to him.
It is a time for complete and total rest.
Cody is strong and young &
I know he can pull out of this.
Strange that today I came across this article at Story of my Life.
I hope Cody is experiencing such things.
Send prayers and good thoughts!!
I'll keep everyone posted.
After Google to find an article about Cody's accident I came across this:
The last line is the best.

ewww spooky!

It is beginning to look and feel like Autumn here in Texas-- finally.
I took out the Halloween decorations back in September. I wanted to solid 2 months to celebrate.
Here is a sneak peek of some decor around our casa!
I will do a separate post for my Halloween wreath I made.

I know this last photo (of a photo) isn't the best quality,
but it is of my great grandfather and his siblings.
Look at those vintage costumes!
This was taken back in the 1920s.
Happy Halloween Y'all!!

Life in India

This post shows a glimpse of my time spent in India.
Things weren't always the cleanest, but I sure had a great time volunteering and teaching those amazing kids.
Read about EVAD (the school I taught at) here.

I packed everything in this.

If I was lucky I got to shower in this kind of shower.
(only happened twice)

If I wasn't lucky.. I had to shower in this shower.
(I invented the stool method)

I slept in this (for 5 weeks).

On this nice tempurpedic bed. I joke.

I usually had a dot on my forehead.

I saw more cows than I could count.

No shoes in the casa.

India sure is good about making their buildings stay cool.
This is great if it's 108 degrees out, but not so great when the high is 50 in the winter.
I slept in multiple layers.

Yoga was something I practiced on a daily basis.

The streets in Old Delhi were crazy busy.

This is what the streets were like where I taugt outside of Delhi.

This is what a really good meal looks like in an orphanage in India.

I'm not sure if I will ever make my way back to India, so I am glad I had the opportunity right after graduating college early. What an amazing experiences. I learned so much about myself throughout my time there.
